5 Tips to Making your Hoop Last a Lifetime

Our Hula Hoops are made of the highest quality materials and will hold up for a long time if they are taken care of. You can expect your normal wear and tear like scuffed tape from rolling it across the driveway or hitting the ceiling... ( we all know it happens.) But if you take care of your hoop it will last you a lifetime with no breaks or kinks.

What does normal wear and tear look like?

It is perfectly normal for your hoops tape to wear. This is the most delicate part of the entire hoop. Its likely that, if you have had your hoop for a long time, you may wish to have it re-taped. Its a relatively easy fix and brings a whole new life to your hoop. When purchasing your hoop, you can request to add a layer of protective tape to your hoop, this is usually an added cost but will help extend the life of your pretty decorated tapes.

Take care of your Happy Hoop with these 5 Tips

#1- Don't Store your Hoop Outside.
The elements are the first thing to effect the integrity of your hoop.
#2- Be Mindful of the Temperature.
Hula hoops are made of plastic and expand in the heat and contract in the cold. Too much exposure to extreme hot or cold could cause your hoop to warp or kink. This is especially true for our BodyFlow and Polypro Hoops, the tubing of these hoops will crack if used when they are cold. Let your hoop warm up before you use it. And try not to keep your hoops in your car.
#3 - Avoid Prolonged Exposure to the Sun.
I get it, we hoop outside on sunny days. Keep doing that. Just know that overtime the sun can bleach out a beautiful UV Hula hoop.
#4 - Don't Get your Hoop Wet
This is for any hoop with Tape or LEDs. Water will cause the tapes to loose their stick, or crack. And common sense tells you that electronics and water is a bad idea.  But if your going to the beach or want to hoop in the rain go for a bare polypro and you'll have a blast.
#5 - Be Aware of your Surroundings.
This is just to make sure you don't lose your hoop someplace un-retrievable like a body of water, a high tree or traffic. Because as I'm sure you know how easy it is to send that hoop flying.
You have spent the money on a quality hula hoop,  make sure it will serve you for as long as your heart desires. With these tips your hoop will last you a lifetime!
